Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 July 2026
The short version. Family Budget Tracker helps you record your own income and expenses and optionally share a budget with your family. We collect only what the app needs to work: your sign-in identity from Google or Apple, the financial entries you create, and your preferences. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use analytics or tracking SDKs. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

1. Who we are
Family Budget Tracker (the “App”) is provided by Dmitriy Kukhta, an individual developer (the “we”, “us”, or “data controller”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the App, why we collect it, how we handle it, and the rights you have over it.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at up.dreams.dev@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
We only collect information that is necessary to provide the App’s features.
a) Account & identity information
You sign in using Google or Apple. When you do, we receive and store the following from your chosen provider:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Email address | Identify your account and contact you about your account |
| Display name | Show your name in the App and to family members you share with |
| Profile picture URL | Display your avatar (if your provider supplies one) |
| Provider account identifier | Securely match you to your account on each sign-in |
If you sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email; in that case we receive Apple’s private relay address instead of your real email.
b) Authentication data
To keep you signed in, we store a hashed (irreversible) copy of a refresh token and its expiry on our server. We never store your Google or Apple password — authentication is handled entirely by those providers.
c) Financial information you create
This is the content you enter into the App. It stays in your account (and any family budget you share) and includes:
- Income and expense entries — amount, date, category, and an optional free-text note
- Your budget “buckets” (personal and shared family budgets)
- Category selections (categories are a fixed list; you cannot create custom ones)
- Any financial goals or recurring entries you set up
These amounts are figures you type in yourself. The App does not connect to your bank, cards, or any financial institution, and never accesses real account balances or transactions.
d) Family & sharing information
If you create or join a family, we store your family membership, your role in it (admin or member, up to 5 members), the date you joined, and any invitations sent or received. Members of a shared family budget can see the shared entries and the display name of the person who created each entry.
e) Preferences
Your currency, language, and theme (light/dark/system) preferences, so the App looks and behaves the way you want.
f) Minimal technical data
The App reads your device’s locale (language/region) to choose a default language and currency format. Our server processes standard connection data (such as your IP address) transiently to deliver requests and protect against abuse; we do not use it to build a profile of you.
3. What we do not collect
To be explicit — we do not:
- Sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising;
- Show you any ads;
- Use third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs;
- Track you across other apps or websites;
- Collect your precise location;
- Access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera;
- Connect to your bank accounts, cards, or any external financial data.
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above only to:
- Create and secure your account and keep you signed in;
- Store and display the budgets, transactions, and goals you create;
- Enable family sharing and manage membership and roles;
- Remember your preferences (currency, language, theme);
- Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the service;
- Comply with our legal obligations and respond to your requests.
5. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on the following legal bases:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Providing the App and its core features | Performance of a contract (our Terms with you) |
| Securing accounts, preventing abuse | Legitimate interests |
| Family sharing you opt into | Performance of a contract / your consent |
| Complying with legal obligations | Legal obligation |
6. How we share information
We share information only in these limited situations:
- With family members you choose to share with. When you create or join a family budget, shared entries and your display name are visible to other members of that family.
- With service providers (sub-processors) who operate the infrastructure the App runs on — for example, our sign-in providers (Google, Apple) and the cloud hosting and database provider that stores the App’s data on our behalf. These providers may only process data to provide their service to us.
- When legally required — for example, to comply with a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.
We never sell your personal information and never share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
7. Third-party services
The App relies on a small number of third parties to function:
- Google Sign-In — authentication, if you choose to sign in with Google. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Sign in with Apple — authentication, if you choose to sign in with Apple. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Cloud hosting & database provider — securely stores the App’s data on our behalf under a data-processing agreement.
8. Data retention
We keep your account and the data you create for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal data from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Encrypted backups are cycled out on a rolling basis.
Note: entries you created inside a shared family budget remain part of that shared budget’s history so the family’s records stay consistent, but they are disassociated from your identity when your account is removed.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Refresh tokens are stored only as irreversible hashes, and on your device they are kept in the operating system’s encrypted secure storage. Access tokens are short-lived and held in memory only. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address any issues.
10. Your privacy rights
If you are in the EEA / UK (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”);
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Data portability — receive your data in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — note that we do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at up.dreams.dev@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
11. Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → account), which removes your personal data as described in the Retention section. Alternatively, email up.dreams.dev@gmail.com from the address associated with your account and we will process the deletion for you.
12. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. International data transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including by the service providers listed above. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under applicable law (such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where changes are material, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
